“God takes our sins – the past, present, and future, and dumps them in the sea and puts up a sign that says NO FISHING ALLOWED.” -Corrie ten Boom
I find this quote quite fitting as I have struggled with the idea of how God can forgive me of sin, especially ones committed as a believer. I don’t intend to sin, but it happens. It’s like Paul says in Romans 7:19 “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.”
I think it’s something every Christian has struggled with at some point in their walk. We don’t want to sin, yet we do, and then we castigate ourselves feeling like a failure when it happens. We wonder if we’ve lost our salvation because we fell prey to sinning, yet again.
Paul also gives us the answer to why we do it. In Romans 7:20-25 he tells us “Now if I do that (which) I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present in me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man. but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
It’s with the mind that we serve the law of God, but with the flesh that we serve the law of sin. Our flesh is weak and sinful, only when we are given our glorified bodies will we no longer be bound the law of sin by the flesh. But until then, with our mind do we serve the law of God which justifies, sanctifies, and makes us righteous in God’s eyes.
Romans 8:1-11 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has me made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually mind is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Our flesh, our body is dead because of sin. Think about it. Our actual fleshly body is decaying and dying because of sin. The sin I speak of is the sin that came into the world through the disobedience of Adam. Because of his disobedience, the curse of death came into the world. It is inherent in us from the moment of conception. We are born to die.
Spiritually, however, we are eternally alive in Jesus Christ, as long as we believe in him and what he did on the cross. His death and resurrection is the antidote, if you will, to curse of sin and death. Our bodies will be redeemed at the rapture, whether dead or alive, and we will be glorified in a perfect sinless body as Jesus was given upon his resurrection.
So we are stuck with this dead fleshly body of sin for now, and we strive against it as we walk after the Spirit and not the flesh. It is a battle that has already been won because the death and resurrection of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, that gives us the ability to wage this war against our flesh. We’ve already won. We must not believe the lies of our dead flesh because it lost the war when we believed on Jesus Christ for our salvation. Our sins have been forgiven us once and for ever.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalms 103:12.

This isn’t the typical thing I blog or reblog, but this is something that needs to be seen. Word needs to get out about what is going on but isn’t being reported.
Potato Creek, SD — The silence surrounding what could only be described as a horror on the Pine Ridge reservation is deafening. The news of two bruised, beaten, possibly sexually assaulted and severely malnourished children received almost no attention. Nearly two weeks later, as of this writing, there still has been no public outcry for the simple fact that the public hasn’t even heard of the abuse.
Out of respect and consideration for these two young Lakota children I will not provide any identifying information beyond the fact they were living with family in the Potato Creek community located between Kyle and Wamblee, SD.
On or about November 12, 2016 a house party was reported in the cluster housing located in Potato Creek. While breaking up the party law enforcement discovered two girls, ages 3 and 4. According to one of the people on scene during the rescue the girls…
