I’ve been reading different blogs about the death of David Wilkerson and came across a comment by a blogger that I thought very relevant. The blogger said that he felt that David Wilkerson was probably the last giant of God on earth.
I have to say that I feel the same way. This man, David Wilkerson, who was rock solid in his faith, was a mighty man of God. He touched countless lives and through his servitude many were saved. He was an obedient and faithful servant, and I have no doubt his reward in heaven is great. There is no comparison between this man and other “renowned” pastors who seem more interested in the number of people they can put in their pews rather than preaching the pure, unadulterated gospel.
David Wilkerson was truly a giant of God, and I fear that the world has seen the last of his kind. I’m not saying that there aren’t any good ministers still around. But there are few like Rev. Wilkerson who never compromised the gospel for their own gain. He taught strictly from the Bible and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. All one has to do is read his blogs and listen to his sermons to know that is the truth.
His death really hit hard for some reason. I don’t know how to explain it other than perhaps his departure is like the last vestige of almost everything good and holy being removed from this earth. And in these end times when evil is running so blatantly rampant, it’s a sorrowful blow to the remnant that remain. But perhaps it is Jesus’ way of forcing us to take our eyes off man, and focusing our attention on him. He’s the only one who will be able to get us through the days to come, and we must place our dependence on him and stand firm in our faith if we are going to persevere to the end.
